Hiking Camelback Mountain

In march, Tony who is a friend of mine, and I climbed Camelback Mountain. Its a great short hike to get a good view of Phoenix. It was the first time I had climbed it durring the spring and we ran into several gigantic lizards and lots of crazy people who like to run up and down the mountain as fast as they can.

Mexico Cruise

This past february we took a 3 night cruise with some other couples from our church down to Ensenada Mexico. We figured it would be an economical way to figure out if we liked cruises. It was a lot of fun and we definitely want to take another one. So if anybody wants to buy us cruise tickets feel free:)

Rock N Roll Marathon

Its been a while since I have updated this blog so I am backing entrys in. In January this year Karen ran the PF Chang Rock and Roll marathon. My mom, Caitlyn and I waited to watch her pass from the finish line but somehow never saw her finish. She later called us from the finish box and said she was done. I think she must have found some sort of short cut or something. Being that she ran 7 marathons now she probably knows a lot of good short cuts. She probably should publish a book on shortcuts for marathon runners becuase I bet a lot of people who run marathons for the free gatorade would want a book like that.

Thanksgiving And Getting Ready For Christmas

Lately we have been trying to get the house ready for Christmas. I successfully put up all the outside lights without dropping the ladder, although I did manage to nail a candy cane through my sprinkler line. We also bought a cheap train to go around the Christmas tree. We thought Caitlyn would enjoy it. She doesn't. In fact she is scared to death of it. This turns out to be a good thing because she leaves the Christmas tree alone. So if you have kids that want to mess with your tree I advise getting the biggest and scariest train you can find and run it until they are scared stiff. Also since I was too lazy to to a Thanksgiving post those pictures are below also.

Fish Creek Hike

This weekend Molly, Caitlyn and I took a trip to the Superstition Mountains to hike up Fish Creek. I think we hiked in a mighty 1/8th of a mile which took about an hour and a half due to the constant stopping so Caitlyn could chuck stuff into the stream. It was also pretty cool to see Canyon Lake drained down about half way with all the junk exposed on the bottom.

Trip to the Phoenix Zoo

Today we went to the Phoenix zoo. It had been about a year since we had last visited and liked some of there new additions. Especially the monkey village in which you could walk around with a couple of dozen little monkeys. One thing though we didn't like is that they tried to charge to see the sting ray exhibit so I have decided to boycott the exhibit until it is free... or Caitlyn bugs us enough to make us spend the money to see the dumb thing:)

Happy Halloween!

This year was Caitlyns first year of trick-or-treating to collect candy for her dad. Although she only went around the block she managed to fill her pumpkin about a third of the way so Dad was very happy. Her costume this year was a Ferry complete with a wand that was used for about 2 minutes and a blinking crown which lasted about 30 seconds. Later a neighbor gave her glow sticks which she liked much better than her wand or candy for that matter.
